I'm Manning. I like to build things that I need or that solve a problem I am having. I experiment here, and write about what I make and why.

Currently I am training for a run/walk 5K. I write and make things by hand— soap, linen housewares, silk scarves, and knitting patterns— and you will soon be able to buy these at a very high price.

Amasis was not the first domain I registered (that would be ilikepie.com, which I am forever trying to get back at a reasonable price) but it is the oldest one I still have active. I named it after the Amasis Painter because in ancient times I studied art history and classics and also because I used to build things with my sister A MA(nning) SIS(ter)
