Mitsubishi Diamond Vision® screens utilize Clearvision signal processing to enhance the displayed image. Clearvision technology was developed during the early days of High Definition Television (HDTV) as a method of displaying images created different formats and sizes on displays that did not match.
Clearvision uses Motion Adaptive Signal Processing to create additional lines of resolution. These additional lines are not created by merely duplicating existing lines, but by using a 3 dimensional interpolating (averaging) method that creates the data to form a new line from data sampled from the lines above, below, before and after to create the new data.
The following two images show how Clearvision enhances image quality. The image on the left shows a display without Clearvision signal processing, the image on the right shows a display with Clearvision signal processing:

Notice how the edges are much more clearly defined and the overall image quality greatly enhanced in the image using Clearvision signal processing. This is the same effect that the Clearvision has on Diamond Vision® screens
